M310UW Long Range Underwater Laser Scanner Designed for High Accuracy

Dual Usage Scanner: Both Cable to the surface and ROV/AUV mounted with MUX power and communication

  • High Resolution Metrology: Underwater Scanner with Internal Scanning to provide Sub-Millimeter Accuracy
  • Large Area Coverage: Fixed Laser Line combined with IMU Data for ROV/AUV Usage

100 Meter Depth Rated - 5 Meter Range

The M310UW Long Range Underwater Laser Scanner is designed to produce time-efficient surveys and precise measurements of larger underwater facilities, such as oil and gas rigs, bridge and pier substructures as well as smaller, submerged piping and valve assemblies.

The M310UW operates at a longer stand-off distance than the M210UW. For instance, the M300UW can scan a target area up to 4 by 5 Meters from a distance to the target of up to 5 Meters, enabling increased efficiency and shortening of completion times on large area underwater imaging projects. The resulting accuracy of the output, after the point cloud is processed with third-party 3-D software* is up to .02mm.

The versatile M310UW can also work up close and can scan a target surface from a distance of only .0.5 Meter. The scanner can be deployed in a variety of methods, including pole mounting, an articulated arm, an ROV/AUV or other robots.

The M310UW set includes a control console, cable and scanner head that houses a laser, a high-resolution video camera and two high-intensity LED ring arrays. The M310UW is manufactured using rugged, industrial-grade hardware and electronic components and uses sophisticated, Newton-developed algorithms that make underwater scanning possible by compensating for the challenges of refraction, turbulence and suspended particulates. The M310UW, is designed to operate in either water or air.
