Newton Labs Completes its 150th US PWR Core Mapping

Newton Labs recently completed the 150th PWR core verification mapping project in the United States with the NM200E Core Mapping System, setting a speed record of just 30 minutes to perform the mapping evolution. These nuclear core mapping projects by Newton Labs have resulted in savings of over 875 critical path hours for the PWR industry as a whole. More importantly, the NM200E has maintained a perfect safety record for eliminated fuel mispositioning, which has been a significant concern in the past due to stuck and damaged fuel assemblies that occur while using less efficient methods.

The Newton Labs NM200E Core Mapping System has provided core verification and fuel gap measurement for many U.S. nuclear utilities and is the most efficient and widely utilized method for core verification in the entire nuclear industry. With improved operational speed, the NM200E is dramatically faster and more efficient than past use of binoculars and human sight, providing significantly greater accuracy to within + 1mm. The NM200E eliminates any possibility of human error while producing highly accurate and precise location and measurement of the fuel assemblies.
